Welcome to Santiago. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and privately escorted to your hotel to settle in.
At a proper time, you will be picked up from your hotel in Santiago and escorted to the airport to board your next flight to Calama, ‘the gateway to the Atacama Desert’.

Upon your arrival, you will be picked up and transferred for 1.5 hours to your hotel in San Pedro.

Later in the afternoon, a half-day tour will take you through the Salt Mountain Range, a unique and spectacular geological wonder created over many millennia as a result of the continually conflicting pressures of the Andes and the Cordillera de Domeyko. It is within this mountain range that you will find the Dinosaur, Death and Moon Valley, each filled with lookouts and views of the mountain range and its volcanoes. Making your way to the Moon Valley, you will visit the Central Crater to get a better view of the valley and the amphitheater before making your way to a viewpoint that overlooks the Three Marys - naturally occurring geological formations in the silhouetted shape of Mother Mary praying.

As the sun sets you will be treated to a light-show of soft pink and red hues reflecting off the rock and petrified salt crystals in Death Valley. To celebrate this natural spectacle toast with a glass of Chilean wine and snacks.
Today’s 6-hour tour takes you on a journey to the Atacama Salt Flat, the largest salt deposit in Chile and third-largest in the world. The arid climate and serene setting form the ideal environment for thousands of flamingoes to gather, especially during summer, and with some luck, you may even see three different species of flamingos, namely the Andean, Chilean and James’s flamingo. Continue to the Tebinquiche Lagoon, a lesser-visited destination amid the imposing ‘Cordillera de la Sal’ (Salt Mountain Range) and one of only a handful of places across the world to feature fossilized stromatolite bacteria, the oldest recorded fossils on the planet. From here, take a dip in the highly saline Cejar Lagoon. The high salt content of the ‘stone lagoon’ allows for you to float like a buoy atop the beautiful turquoise water, an opportunity to relax and enjoy the feeling of almost complete weightlessness. Once refreshed, your guide and driver will be waiting to serve you some wine and snacks for a toast in this pristine natural setting.

Packing recommendation: Bathing suit and towel, sunscreen
