Join Boris on this off-the-beaten-track tour through Cusco’s nearby ruins. Unlike most tours, you will begin your experience at the furthest of the four ruins, Tambomachay. After exploring the site, you will continue on by foot to the must-see ruins of Puca Pucara, Kenko, and of course, the monumental fortress of Sacsayhuaman. You will then begin your gentle downhill hike through the countryside into Cusco. Once in Cusco, make sure to visit San Blas’s artisan quarter with its steeped cobblestone alleys and spectacular views of the city. All your walking will be rewarded with a visit to Limbus Restobar. Enjoy one of their delicious craft beers and snacks (we recommend their Tequeños -fried cheese sticks with guacamole) as you take in the stunning view over Cusco’s rooftops!

Meet Boris the hero behind this experience

Boris, our beloved guide, shares his stories of growing up in the jungle outside Cusco and farming cocoa beans with his family. He continues to practice the Incan principle of Ayni, helping his community by finding and sharing leftovers with the less fortunate. As a young boy, Boris acted as a traditional 'Inca runner,' running more than 2 km (1.3 miles) to his neighbors' houses for help with crops, with his family returning the favor. He's passionate about protecting the environment, inspired by the Quechua concept of Pachamama, and now shares his love of history and tradition as a tour guide.

Where you'll be

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel to hike the the surrounding ruins and explore the San Blas district (the tour takes about 4-5 hours)

This experience is for those who want to explore actively. Although not too challenging, these experiences do require some physical fitness. Some examples of what to expect include e-biking, surfing, soft hikes, or SUP.

What to bring

We recommend bringing good walking shoes and a water bottle. On sunny days we recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. During the rainy season from December to March we recommend bringing a rain jacket.
