IT Supervisor
Julio Villavicencio
Finishing his secondary studies, he made the decision to study for a career in computing after spending an entire summer hooked on a new network which they called ‘the Internet’.
He began to study in the area of networking and data communications because he wanted to understand how the internet operates as well as how to take advantage of the vast possibilities that this new technology brings.
Completing his studies, he began working in a call center where he had to provide solutions to the computer problems that arose. It is there that he discovered how rewarding it is to help others. He then ended his cycle in support and decides to specialize in server administration. Thus, in 2012 he returned to the classroom to complement his technical studies with a university education.
In 2016, looking for new professional challenges, Julio arrived at Setours as a systems analyst and in 2017 he took responsibility for supervising the systems area which is where he is today. He really loves this job because, on the one hand, he can help his colleagues with their computer problems while at the same time he is also able to research, develop and propose changes in infrastructure.
Fun Fact: In school he participated in the performing arts and along with a group of classmates he formed a dance group that won the regional competition for typical dances.
During her studies, she got the opportunity to do an internship abroad – and there was no doubt about where she chose to go.
That lead to her first encounter with Setours in Lima, where Katharina worked for half a year in the sales department of the headquarter. Like most travelers, Machu Picchu was on the top of her bucket list but after half a year working and living in Peru, she was amazed as to how much more Peru has to offer and how great the variety of landscape and culture is.
Fun Fact: Before coming to Lima, Katharina first walked the streets of Miraflores through her mind, led only by the vivid descriptions from her favorite Mario Vargas Llosa's novels. Once being there personally, she was fascinated by the fact that she could actually walk through the same streets and quarters that she read about in the books – even though it was a few decades later.
