This trip is a similar itinerary to our most popular trip ‘Golden Circle’, but we have shortened this classic circuit for those travelers lacking time. The journey includes the very highlights of two Andean countries: Peru and Bolivia. Departing from Lima you make your first stop in the former capital of the Inca Empire before you venture into the Peruvian/Bolivian high plateau to sail the mystic Titicaca Lake. The last sightseeing tour is in Lima – a modern capital with a pre-Columbian and colonial heritage.
Itinerary
DAY 1 ... – LIMA
Welcome to Lima, the 'City of Kings'. You will be met at the airport and privately escorted to your hotel.
DAY 2 LIMA – CUSCO (B)
Flight to Cusco.
Our comprehensive afternoon tour includes the visit the major sites of interest in Cusco. The tour starts with Sacsayhuaman, a hilltop fortress that overlooks the city of Cusco. The largest stones used in its construction are nearly 8.5 m (28 ft) high and weigh 360 tons, fitting so perfectly together that a single piece of paper would not fit between two stones. Then we are driven to Kenko, the temple dedicated to Mother Earth. Before we head back to Cusco we stop at Puka Pukara (the red fortress) and Tambomachay (the resting place of the Inca). Once in the city we visit the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, a fine example of the fusion of Inca and colonial architecture. Just within walking distance we will enter the cathedral with its magnificently carved woodwork, ornate altar and many hundreds of canvases from the 17th-century 'Cusco Painting School'.
DAY 3 CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY (B,L)
This morning we drive to the Pisaq market in the Sacred Valley. Originally a place where people from remote communities used to barter their products, Pisaq has evolved to one of South America’s most famous souvenir markets. Make sure to sample some ‘empanadas’ baked in traditional clay ovens.
The countryside restaurant provides high-quality Cusqueno-style barbecue for lunch. Try the local ‘choclo’ or ‘Andean corn’, Cusqueno bread, different sorts of potatoes grown in the Sacred Valley and the popular maize beer or ‘chicha’. Guests can dine either in the tastefully appointed dining room or in the terrace with typical Cusqueno brick ovens and the surrounding snow-capped Andes. Lunch is also accompanied by Peruvian Paso horse from the hotel’s own stables.
Afternoon visit to Ollantaytambo Fortress where the Temple of the Sun (formed of six gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons) and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out.
DAY 4 SACRED VALLEY – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (B,L)
Today we set of for Machu Picchu. After 1½ hour train ride we arrive at the small town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will make the 20-minute coach ascent to the ‘Lost City of the Incas’. It's hard to understand how such a magnificent site could not have been discovered by the Spanish. Until its discovery in the 1911, Machu Picchu remained forgotten for 400 years. Our guide will explain you the fascinating history of this impressive Inca archaeological site. After lunch in Aguas Calientes we return on the afternoon train to Ollanta. As we approach the city of Cusco by bus, the illuminated Cathedral and other churches near the main square greet us.

At proper time you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to La Paz.
Upon arrival to La Paz, transfer to your hotel.

After visiting Pilkokaina Inca Palace you sail back to Copacabana.
