IMPORTANT UYUNI
During rainy season (November-April) the ‘salar’ is often covered with salt water difficulting the transit. Day temperatures average 20°C (68°F) dropping to 5°C (41°F) at night. The winter (dry season) begins in May and lasts until October. As the water evaporated the salt lake it is easier to cross the salt lake in these months. The day temperature in the dry season is 15°C (59°F) and -13°C (9°F) at night. Accommodation in Uyuni as well as in the salt flats is rustic with limited facilities but offer private bathroom and hot water.
