After breakfast we depart to Bolivia. We drive along the south side of Lake Titicaca to the ancient shrine of Copacabana, on the boundary between Peru and Bolivia. On the way, we pass through the town of Juli, whose church is considered a jewel of colonial architecture. Once in Copacabana we visit its church and board a catamaran to the mythic Sun Island. Visit the Inca Garden, steps and fountain then the Inti Wata Cultural Complex. The complex features the Ekako Underground Museum and an interesting demo of Andean crops, medicinal herbs and Andean fauna. Activities in the Sun Island today include a traditional Kallawaya shaman's ceremony, a visit to the Titicaca reed shipbuilders display center and a unique sailing experience aboard a huge Titicaca traditional reed vessel visiting the Pilkokaina Inca Palace. A buffet lunch will be served on board as we cruise to the community of Challapampa in the northern part of Sun Island. On arrival you will be greet with local music and will have the opportunity to visit a small local museum. On board small wooden boats we sail towards the archaeological site ‘Chinkana’ the most extensive Inca remaining on the island. After the visit we have the chance to enjoy the overwhelming panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains as you hike to reach the pier and board the catamaran.
