The most sophisticated property of Orient Express in Peru opens on June 15th

Orient Express announced the official opening of its newest and most ambitious project, the boutique hotel Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco. It was during a breakfast for its most important clients in Lima that the date of opening was reconfirmed. We could see the first promotional video including the first pictures of Palacio Nazarenas and can say that the character and features of this property simply exceeded our expectations. 'AMASZONAS' begins to operate flights between Cusco – La Paz from June 15th

The Bolivian airline AEROSUR stopped its operations last week. However, the airline 'AMASZONAS' will be offering daily flights (except Sundays) between La Paz und Cusco from June 15th, with a Bombardier CRJ-200 built in Canada, which can carry up to 50 passengers. The aircraft can land and take off from small paved runways and is equipped with 2 efficient turbines to operate in greater heights.

The 'Llama Taxi' – a new transportation service in the Colca Valley started its operation recently

The 'Llama Taxi' is a new transportation service in the Colca Valley. Aboard travelers can visit the hot springs La Calera near Chivay, the colonial bridge and other attractions in the area. In the first stage service will be provided with six llamas in the town of Chivay and in the Sibayo district, which successfully develops community-based tourism. The project aims to contribute as a new source of income for the locals.

The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art in the capital Santiago remains temporarily closed due to renovation. Alternatively the Pre-Columbian Museum can be replaced with the Archaeological Museum of Santiago ‘MAS’ located in the Lastarria district, one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Santiago’s downtown. Also the hot springs of Puritama in the Chilean town San Pedro de Atacama remains closed until September 2012.

With an investment of USD 30 million, the Royal Decameron Hotel, located in Punta Sal, at km 1.190 of the northern Panamerican Highway in Tumbes, will open its doors in June 2012. The first stage of the project includes 133 rooms, restaurant, snack bar, two bars, entertainment area, two pools and a one-kilometer beach. The second stage consists of 168 additional rooms, a specialty restaurant, main restaurant, four bars, spa and tennis courts. Decameron, a Colombian hotel chain, is a leader in the all-inclusive sector in Latin American. A wide variety of meals, open bar, endless entertainment and more will be offered to the guests 24 hours a day. This megaproject implies a combination of fun, relaxation and family life that will make the northern district one of the busiest in the country and the continent.

Fashion Week in Lima welcomed over 10,000 visitors last month

The event was held from 23rd to the 28th of April at the Convention Center Jockey Plaza. ‘Peru Moda’ and ‘Peru Gift Show’, the two main shows of the event, represented the work of entrepreneurs from 10 different regions of Peru. Buyers attending the exhibition came from the United States, Canada, Brazil, UK, France, Holland, Chile, Italy and UAE.

New show ‘ACHUMA’ in Wayra restaurant in the Sacred Valley

The experience-restaurant Wayra has launched an artistic show ‘Achuma’ for the first time ever in the Sacred Valley. In a mix of theatre, circus art and music ‘Achuma’ performed by 5 artists, tells the story of a shaman and his apprentice, who, with the help of the sacred cactus plant Achuma, travels into other worlds. The show is offered WED, THU, FRI and SAT at 06:30 pm at Wayra restaurant, starting in APRIL 2012. The rate includes a full meal, a glass of wine and the Achuma presentation.
